Request account and data deletion – SchoolNest

Steps to request deletion

1. Sign in to the SchoolNest app (web or mobile) with the account you want to delete.
2. Open Support or Contact us (e.g. from the dashboard menu or Help) and send a message with subject "Account deletion request" and your registered email address; or emailprivacy@yourdomain.com with the same subject and email.
3. We will confirm your identity and process the request within 30 days; we will notify you when the deletion is complete.

What we delete

When we process your account deletion request, we delete or remove: your account and login credentials; your profile (name, email, phone); your parent profile if you have one; your links to schools (staff or member roles); your parent–child link requests and approvals; invitations tied to your account; and other personal data we hold that is not required for legal or contractual retention.

What we keep (and for how long)

We may retain data that we are required to keep under Nigerian law (e.g. financial or tax records for the period required by law). We may keep anonymized or aggregated data that no longer identifies you. School-owned data (e.g. student records, classes) remains with the school as data controller and is not deleted by us when we delete your account.

Retention

Deletion is processed within 30 days of verification of your request. Any data we retain for legal reasons is kept only for the retention period required by law, as described in our Privacy Policy.

If you are signed in, you can also use Contact us from the dashboard to send your deletion request, or email privacy@yourdomain.com. You may lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) at ndpc.gov.ng if you have concerns.
